About the Author
Caitie lives for stories—writing them, reading them, telling them, and listening to them. She’s the author of YA verse novel EVERY LITTLE BAD IDEA (West 44 Books), a coming-of-age story about a girl who needs to decide between everything she’s ever worked for and the boy who makes her feel seen. She’s also the author of the picture book WONDERFUL NOW (Windmill Books), which teaches kids the mindfulness skill of grounding to cope with anxiety. Caitie has worked as an editor and associate editorial director in educational publishing for 13 years, writing hundreds of fiction and nonfiction books on various topics. As an editor, she’s helped dozens of authors achieve their dreams to write a book, and in 2023, she was a PW Star Watch honoree for her editorial work with West 44 Books. She’s the mom of two awesome kids who remind her of the magic of stories every day.

Emmy’s mom teaches her about the mindfulness technique of grounding, and the power of living in the now. With her new stress-busting skills, Emmy not only succeeds in her first plane ride, she’s able to enjoy all the Big City has to offer!
